Q: |
Why is the Motion-Pro II better than other simulators? |
A: |
First, CXC believes racing simulation requires more than a vibrating seat in front of a screen, no matter how good the sound system is. As we say of the MP II, “It will move you.” |
Some other simulators also employ motion systems, but in the MP II, the motion system is customized and integrated with other technologies in a way we believe is unique – this after exhaustive testing and development with professional racers. The result is an incredibly intense and authentic motor racing experience. |
Finally, look at the MP II. Look at the way it’s built and compare. It’s not tarted up to be a faux racecar. It’s a serious piece of high-tech machinery, ruggedly designed to do one job. As is a real racecar. |
Q: |
Why does only the seat move? |
A: |
The idea is to simulate the experience of racing, not duplicate it. After two years of extensive R&D with various configurations, we believe we have determined the exact amount and type of movement it takes to “trick” the brain into perceiving motion. It is not possible nor is it necessary to generate the sustained g-loads of a real racecar. In our experience, attempts to do so add more size, weight, complexity and expense than reality. We believe, and others seem to agree, that the CXC motion system, and in particular, the way it’s integrated with our tactile feedback, audio and control systems, delivers the quickest- responding, most intense and realistic racing simulation accessible to the enthusiast consumer, not just race teams and pro drivers. |
Q: |
What about the novice or youthful user, or someone who is uncomfortable with intense motion, is the Motion Pro II too physical or too complex for them? |
A: |
Yes, it is – at maximum settings, but the whole experience, the intensity of motion, tactile feedback and audio output, can be dialed back to comfortable levels. These functions are fully scalable and easily adjusted by the user. What’s more, the settings can be saved for future use. |
Q: |
What are the software options? What kind of cars and tracks are supported? |
A: |
Unlike some motion systems, the Motion Pro II is not locked into any one software. We can provide licenses for most of the popular software options, which means simulations that include cars and tracks from rally and rallycross, modern and vintage sports car and GT racing, dirt tracks and high-speed ovals, NASCAR, Formula One and many others. |
In addition, user-created cars and tracks for existing software are constantly being added by the online “mod” community. For example, hundreds of user-created tracks and cars already exist for rFactor, just one of the supported software simulations. |
Q: |
Can you build custom content? |
A: |
Absolutely. CXC manufactures hardware, but we work directly with partnered software developers. Bottom line, whether it’s a replica of a vintage car for personal use, a private track, in-game branding or a custom UI, cars and game for marketing and promotional activities, our partnered developers and software companies can create it. |
Q: |
What colors are available? |
A: |
The standard color is Black. Custom colors, including specific team liveries are available at extra cost. |
Q: |
How much noise does the Motion Pro II make? |
A: |
How much do you want? You’re the driver. More than 100 dB is available for authentic intensity, but volume and vibration level can easily be adjusted from audio controls on the dash, or instantly reduced or muted, as when taking a phone call, etc. Or for completely silent operation, headphones can be plugged in. |
