It’s not every day that companies get to hear customers sing their praises, and we’re overjoyed to receive this news! On September 21, 2014, Michael Lewis, driving his 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, sponsored by Curb Records and prepared by Competition Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian, earned his fourth win of the season in the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
How did he prepare for the race? In Michael’s own words:
I find myself constantly drawn to the virtual racing world. Whether that is looking at videos or practicing my craft in a racing simulator, it seems that some sort of racing simulation is very helpful to my own track driving. It is definitely important to drive in the actual, real race car as much as you can; however, sometimes we live in an imperfect world and that is not always possible to do. But even if we lived in a perfect world where race drivers could drive every day, I think that simulator time definitely adds to becoming a better driver.
With excellent simulator technology provided by a company such as CXC Simulations, it is as if you are driving the real thing. It is amazing to see the detail in the track layouts, scenery, curb details, asphalt changes and car audio, among other things. Yes, it is a virtual world, but driving laps over and over at a certain circuit and being in that “racing mindset” is what a racing simulator provides for me – repetition at a high mental stress level.
The awesome simulators at CXC Simulations really provide an additional training tool for my mind and it keeps me mentally sharp. Plus, the guys at CXC have made the sim pretty close to a real car, so there is definitely a physical workout involved. For those who contemplate using a simulator, give it a shot – it could help sharpen your skills. In particular, give CXC Simulations a try.
We’re thrilled to have helped Michael prepare for this race and look forward to seeing him more as he closes in on first place!
