CXC Simulations was recently given the opportunity to develop a pair of our Motion Pro II simulators with Lexus. Anytime our staff gets the opportunity to work with an OEM, especially one that is so involved in motorsports, it becomes an exciting project and this was no exception.

Designed to leverage the company’s involvement in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, this pair of Motion Pro II simulators were designed to give Lexus guests at numerous events around the country a fully immersive Lexus Performance experience. The simulators tie together include the Lexus Performance Driving School, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca where Lexus serves as the official Luxury Car partner, and Lexus Racing with AIM/Vasser Sullivan Racing in IMSA.

Guests who drive the Lexus Racing Motion Pro II simulators get to drive virtual examples of the Lexus RCF GT3. Because it is not available in any commercially available program, it was created for the simulator by the Creative Services department at CXC Simulations. The simulator also uses the steering wheel from the Lexus RCF GT3, adding to the realism experienced by Lexus’ guests. A custom graphics package modeled after the Lexus Racing RCF GT3 cars is the final piece of the puzzle.

Featuring a proprietary full-motion system, custom software, force-feedback wheel and hydraulic braking system the Lexus Racing Motion Pro II’s have been well received by Lexus’ guests. The simulators have been used at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach where over 1300 guests got behind the wheel, the US Women’s Open in Charleston, South Carolina, several Lexus Performance Driving Schools and at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Another fan is Lexus Racing Brand Ambassador Scott Pruett. One of the most successful drivers in North American sports car racing history, Pruett enjoys his time behind the wheel of the virtual Lexus which is modeled after the car he raced in the 2017 and 2018 IMSA championship.
